BIG SUCCESS!! 15th Annual Golf Tourney August 18th

Thank you to all who donated, volunteered and participated in this year’s annual Golf Tourney. It was a huge success raising over $13K towards our Reach Out for Youth Annual Campaign. Thanks to MountainOne for their Key sponsor, thank you BoxCar Media and Adams Community Bank for their Golf cart sponsors, thank you to Berkshire Hills for a great course and thank you Mother Nature for a beautiful day. A HUGE thank you for our golf committee for leading through a great tourney- Rob Abel, David Brown, Dennis D’Arcangelo, Jean Stone and Tracy McConnell. Thank you to the 20 teams that played. See you all next year!!

YMCA Closed

The YMCA is closed due a power outage. Childcare program is still up and running though.

Deep Water – High Energy/Low Impact Aerobics

Upper and lower body moves to firm, strengthen and sculpt the muscles by using the water’s natural resistance. Benefits include increased flexibility and increased endurance. Done in deep water. A great way to get in shape and have fun all while placing little to no stress on your joints!

Twinges in the Hinges

This program is in conjunction with the Arthritis Foundation. The class will improve flexibility and mobility for individuals with joint or muscular problems. Seven week program.

Y Celebrates Reaching Campaign Goal

The Northern Berkshire Y wants to thank everyone you pledged donations to our Reach Out For Youth campaign. This we exceded our goal of $40K. Thanks to you over 800 youth, families and seniors can enjoy our many programs.

LEARN TO SWIM

The Northern Berkshire Y is running a Learn to Swim Program August 20th to August 24th for NON- Swimmer or who need to improve their swimming strokes.
The program is a 5 day session Monday through Friday.

The first 50 children to sign pay only $10 for the 5 days of sessons- SO SIGN UP NOW!!!

Ages 4 to 6
years will meet 10:30 to 11:00 am.

Ages 7 to 12
years will meet 11:00 to 11:30 am.

Cost for the Learn to Swim Program is $10.00 per
child

New YMCA Website Launched!

YMCA’s New Teen Center

The new Teen Center was unveiled Monday, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by state Sen. Benjamin Downing, D-Pittsfield, Mayor Richard J. Alcombright and members of the Y’s Board of Directors.

Executive Director Justin Ihne said a $25,000 grant from the Amelia Peabody Foundation paid for the renovations to the space — a former computer lab and adjacent baby-sitting area — along with new computers, a double basketball shoot-out game, two Wii consoles and a foosball table

Aquastep

Step exercise in the pool. Aerobic conditioning utilizing the resistance of water and the movement of stepping. Build muscle, increase endurance, lose weight and improve your heart rate.

We are a non-profit charitable organization. The Northern Berkshire YMCA is committed to serving the community. As a supporter of the Reach Out for Youth Annual Campaign, your pledge allows us to provide financial assistance to youth, families and seniors who might not normally be able to attend our programs. At the Y we are for Youth Development -through our after school programs, child care, teen programs and summer camps; We are for Healthy living through group fitness, aquatic programs and sports camps; and we are for Social Responsibility …which is where you come in.

100% of your tax deductible donation goes back to the community through affordable programming. The needs of our youth will not change in 2014.

Our campaign goal for 2014 is to raise $60,000 so that we can continue to offer quality programs. We need your help to fulfill our Y philosophy to offer programs to everyone, even those who otherwise would be unable to attend.

Friday Night Fun Club!

Join us this Friday evening for Friday Night Fun Club!

Friday Night Fun Club is a FREE youth activity based program happening every Friday night throughout this year. Children that attend do NOT have to be members with the Northern Berkshire YMCA. Activities will include swimming, games in the gym, and arts & crafts. At this time, Friday Night Fun Club is available to North Adams youth, ages 8-14*. This program has been established due to a generous grant from the city of North Adams.

Check-in begins at 6pm and parents are not required to stay. Pick-up is 8pm.

*Age range was recently extended from 12 to 14 years of age.
